Get the low down on your favorite hunting spots with the Primos Truth Deer Positioning System (DPS). The DPS is actually a trail and game camera that records an entire day's activity in 5- to 10-second intervals. Nothing has to walk in front of the DPS to capture a photo; the camera does it all on its own. Later, you can review the entire day's worth of photos in less than three minutes. The system is terrific for gauging where and when deer are entering and exiting a food plot, so you can plan your next hunting trip accordingly.
The DPS--which offers constant daylight surveillance--includes a built-in LCD screen for adjusting the settings and a rugged carrying case. The DPS is also bundled with image software that allows you to save individual photos or email shorts clips of photos to your friends.

Primos Truth DPS 'Deer Positioning System Trail and Game Camera Reviews
This review is from: Primos Truth DPS 'Deer Positioning System Trail and Game Camera (Sports)
I just viewed my first 4 days of pictures and it works as advertised. Pretty decent picture quality and it easily covered a food plot out to the 80 yards that I needed. The software works well and was easy to use. The only downside I see to this type of camera vs. a trail camera is that you have to spend a little time watching the movie/pictures to identify when/if the deer come in. However, I am seeing a lot of deer that would have never triggered a trail camera. Is is neat how it basically makes a movie of the day so you can see the deer's patterns.

The Amazon page on this camera advertises that customers who bought this camera also bought a SanDisk SD or SDHC flash memory card. In doing research prior to ordering one of these cameras, I found mention in an archerytalk forum that in contacting Primos about a problem with the camera, the person leaving the post said that he was told by Primos that SanDisk cards won't work [reliably] in the camera. The camera was tested by Primos using cards by both Patriot and Lexar, and they worked fine. SanDisk is no doubt a fine product, but not in this camera, and the impression I got was that the problem is with the camera, and not the SanDisk cards. Needless to say, I ordered a Patriot SDHC card with my camera.

According to the FAQ sheet on Primo's website, the DPS is designed to operate between 1/2 hr before sunrise and 1/2 hour after sunset. However, the camera will turn itself on well after first light in the morning, usually 1 hour after legal hunting hours here in Maine, which means the camera misses one of the peak periods for game movement in the areas I hunt. The Primos customer service staff had no advice for me. In the evening the camera operates fine. The "At A Glance" software works okay and the battery life is average in warm weather. Unfortunately I can't recommend a time lapse camera that turns on as late as this one does.

This review is from: Primos Truth Cam 46 Camera (Sports)
Well about two weeks ago i purchased this camera... it was much much better than my Wildgame innovations s2, until it went insane: I came out to check the pictures and it had 15 (3burst shots, brought the SD card up to the house and had lots of nice night photos on it... brought the sd back to the camera. loaded it and went to arm the camera and it starts taking pics w/o counting down like its supposed to, so i went into it and tried fixing settings but it takes pics about every 5 seconds so you cant get anywhere... it now just freezes the screen and takes pics... i even turned it upside down on the floor and you can hear the faint click it makes about every 5 seconds... anyways working on that with Primos ATM, hopefully i just got a dud. so your wondering why i gave this a 5 star review at this point, well here's why: Pros: -Takes awesome night pictures! -Trigger time is very fast... birds can't even escape it's grasp -it is very simple to use/set up and has... This review is from: Primos Truth Cam 46 Camera (Sports)
I've been using my new TC46 and would like to comment on it. I selected the TC46 because of it's "better than most" construction, it's 46 LED's, it's high level of features and the name Primos on front. Pros: - Programing is easy - Triggering seems to working well - I like the seal design on the TruthCam. - Easily lockable
Con's: - To make it function properly, I've had to use all the 46 LEDs and 5.0MP settings. - With these settings, battery life is poor.
After placing the cam at my hunting location, the next day I was delighted to see over 60 pictures registering on the readout. While I had the sensitivity too high and got some nuisance trips, I had over 20 pictures of "blackness". That was even with the 46led setting. This is unacceptable since it should of at least picked up a tree at 5' away. I have gotten good night pics from the cam on other evenings. It looks like night pics at 50% battery are not... This camera has worked well for me. With rechargeable batteries, I've taken 429 photos in a week and still had 50% of the battery life left. As for the external power port, I tried it, but the battery didn't last as long as the internal rechargeables did! If someone has a solar panel the external power might be a good option.
The camera is sometimes slow switching between day and night photos. At dusk the photos are sometimes too dark and at dawn they may be white(I have another brand that does the same thing). However the trigger speed is very fast capturing animal movement easily.
One thing I don't like is the limited delay choices for taking photos. There is only a 1 minute delay and 30 minute delay option between shots, none in between. Other cameras I have offer a 5 and 10 minute delay.
Overall, this is a good camera. I've used it now for 8 weeks and captured some great buck photos!! I would definitely recommend it to a friend... Read more

Primos Hunting Truth Cam Blackout Game Trail Camera Reviews
This review is from: Primos Hunting Truth Cam Blackout Game Trail Camera (Sports)
This review is for the Primos Truth Cam Blackout - Model 63035, not the 63050 Model as pictured on some websites, so look at the model numbers. From what I read, I think the 63035 Model has been out a little longer than the 63050 Model, camo color, and has two less LEDs. There is not much info on these Blackout cameras, so here are some of the specs:
1. Camera is 9" ht, 7" wide, 2" thick 2. 6 volt camera and has external battery port 3. Requires 4 D batteries 4. Requires SD card - 1GB to 32GB 5. Has 60 LED - Settings allow you to use 36 LED or 60 LED 6. Takes 2MP, 3.1MP, 5 MP, or 7MP photos 7. Takes 15S High Res, 15S Low Res, 30S High Res, 30S Low Res, or 60S Low Res videos 8. At 3.1MP, the SD card can hold the following: 1GB=820 pics, 2GD=1650 pics, 4GD=3300 pics, 8GD=11420 pics, 16GD=13220 pics, 32GD=26440 pics. At 2MP, the camera will hold about a third more images. 9. Will record time, date, moon phase, temperature 10. Has... Read more

This review is from: Primos Hunting Truth Cam Blackout Game Trail Camera (Sports)
I purchased this camera eventhough it was more money than I wanted to spend, just for the benefit of "No red glow or flash". Completely undetectable they say. That is NOT the case. The camera does have a definate visible glow at night and deer and coyotes obviously see that glow. Pictures on the camera show them staring directly at it and the next picture is a blurred shot of their backsides as they run away. Stand in a dark closet and trigger the camera. You will have no problem seeing the red glow. I was also disappointed that it leaks badly in the rain. There is water inside the camera and on the batteries, and it collects on the sd card rubber gasket and seeps through to the sd card. I tried to check the gasket but there isn't one - just a plastic lip. It does not have to be a hard rain either. I also noticed that it has difficulty adjusting it's exposure during the early dawn and late evening hours. If it takes three pictures in a few seconds, one will be dark but in color, the...
